The Tallest Bridge in the World : Millau Viaduct, France

A nother email I received from a good friend that is worth sharing is the prominent Millau Viaduct that was opened to traffic last 17th of December 2007 that established modern touchstone in construction and planning design. Not to mention that is sets the record for largest cable-stayed bridge in Europe.

The Millau Viaduct is considered as the highest bridge in the world. The bridge has 1000 ft height which is even higher than the famous Eiffel tower. They said that you will experience the unelaborated sensation of the clouds on your face while riding on that bridge. Meaning you can sense how it feels like while walking above the clouds.

Millau is in southern France, and this viaduct is a key link on the A75 road south from Paris.
Interesting as what they said, the Millau viaduct is not straight, a straight route can cause sensation of floating for drivers. The curve is 20 km in range with a slight inclination of 3% to
get clear visibility and give assurance to the driver.

Millau Viaduct France (In French le Viaduc de Millau) is one of the most awesome civil engineering project. It is a large cable-stayed road-bridge that spans the valley of the River Tarn near Millau in France. It was designed by structural engineer Michel Virlogeux and architect Norman Foster. One of the summit of this bridge is at a height of 343 meters)1125 ft) which makes it is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world.
